“We cannot change the past, but we can change how we relate to it and how it shapes our future.”

  • Janina Fischer, Transforming the Living Legacy of Trauma

Do you ever feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world? Maybe you find yourself thinking, “I’ll never be good enough,” or questioning if you’re a burden to those around you. You might struggle to accept kindness, doubting if others genuinely care, or feel like happiness is always just out of reach. These thoughts can be isolating and overwhelming, leaving you wondering why self-compassion feels so difficult.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand the powerful grip that feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt can have. I know that the journey through self-doubt, trauma, and healing can be overwhelming because I have walked a similar path. Having faced my own experiences of trauma throughout my life, I understand how isolating it can feel to carry those invisible burdens. But I also know that healing is possible, and that there is true strength in seeking support.

I have spent several years working alongside individuals who have endured the deep and lasting impacts of sexual assault, domestic violence, complex family dynamics, or other childhood adversities. I know that facing these challenges takes immense bravery, and I am here to support you on your path toward reclaiming your sense of peace, purpose, and self-worth.

In our work together, we may explore various mindfulness-based therapeutic practices like guided meditations or breathing exercises to support your healing journey—always at a pace that feels right for you.

You don’t have to face these thoughts alone—together, we can work toward building a foundation of self-acceptance, inner strength, and a renewed sense of authenticity. My hope is to help you reconnect with a vision of the life you want to lead, empowering you with the tools and insights to move forward with hope and self-compassion.

“The most powerful and important thing you can do is to accept what you feel, to accept your emotions.”

“It is never too late to be what you might have been” – George Eliot.

As young children, we know what we need, want and enjoy. We are less likely to hold back from big dreams, showing emotions or stating needs. As we move through life, difficult experiences and outside expectations often move our focus from intuitively doing what is best for us, leaving many feeling detached from our true selves. Using an eclectic, feminist approach with a sprinkle of humor, Samantha will assist you in assessing and addressing the life events that have moved you away from the life you want.

Samantha holds a BA in Behavioural Psychology and an MA in Counselling Psychology and brings a plethora of experiences from past work in addictions, developmental disabilities, early psychosis, interpersonal trauma, neurodiversity and applied behavioural analysis.

It is Samantha’s belief that a good therapeutic fit is the first step in successful therapy. If you are an individual, couple or family, over the age of 13 looking to become what you might have been before life got in the way, please schedule a free meet and greet to ensure a good fit and learn what to expect on your therapy journey.

Hi, I’m Jacquie

I grew up competing nationally as a dancer and training at some of the best institutions in North America but when I jumped into the professional world, I choked. Every failure felt like a monumental step back and pushing myself lead to spirals of burnout, self doubt and slowly losing belief in myself.

The truth? I was so scared of failing in front of everyone, the pressure was too much. The voices in my head started getting louder, telling me I probably just wasn’t good enough. The thing is, I still had this one lingering part telling me to keep going.

So I spent thousands of dollars in therapy and went down the manifestion, biohacking, self help rabbit hole.

If I’m being honest, all of this cognitive learning sent me into spirals of shame and dysregulation. I was trying to outthink negative beliefs. When I couldn’t outthink those patterns, I felt like something was wrong with me.

Then I learnt trauma is stored in your body You know that feeling when something really tough happens or someone says something hurtful and it just seems to stick with you? Well, “The Body Keeps the Score,” talks about exactly that. This book looks into how these tough experiences, like traumas, can mess with not just your head but your whole body.

Those experiences are not just in your mind, but in your cells and your whole way of being.

This understanding gave me so much relief. I had a reason as to why nothing was changing. I wasn’t broken.

NOW IT’S MY MISSION TO UNBLOCK CREATIVE SOULS without the confusion, frustration, or self doubt it usually comes with

because you do deserve the life you desire and…

THE WORLD NEEDS YOUR VOICE.
